It is an easy stroll to Echo Point and the famous Three Sisters, with its’ spectacular views of the Jamison and Kedumba Valley. “Why not rug up and take the short evening walk down to Echo Point and see the 3 Sisters spectacularly flood lit at night”. The bush walking trails in the World Heritage Listed National Park are easily accessible from your doorstep. Antique and craft shops are close by. Walk or drive to the well-known and quaint Leura Mall, famous for its’ charm. And then there are the famous Katoomba attractions, the Skyway, Scenic Railway and Cableway. Or use Avarest as a base and take the scenic drives to Jenolan Caves or the Zig Zag Railway. “Lots to see and do or just use Avarest as a place to unwind”.

The cottage is also temptingly close to a variety of local restaurants. “Walk to a different one each night or venture further a field”. It is a short stroll to Katoomba Shopping Centre, the local Information Centre, Katoomba Railway Station and local Bus Services.

Avarest Cottage was built to capture the light, making this cottage exceptionally bright and comfortable. With its high ceilings, ornate cornices and bold beautiful architraves, it has an understated charm quite apart from its deceptive exterior. “Be pleasantly surprised, you will not be disappointed”. With 3 large bedrooms, a lounge / dining room “with a dining room table able to seat 8”, a relaxing sunroom, 2 sparkling recently renovated bathrooms and a bright modern kitchen, Avarest has the charm of a cottage with the room of a house.

Warm and cosy, a gas log fire provides plenty of heating and the large sunroom makes a stay on a chilly day a delight. There are plenty of couches to lounge in, to chat with friends or just enjoy a good book. Why not enjoy a Christmas in July?

A BBQ is available “wood fuel, it always seems to taste better” in a tranquil level back yard ideal for kids or just relax and enjoy the antics of the feathered locals. Galahs, cockatoos and parrots are more than happy to share the yard with you. Plenty of off street parking is available to accommodate a number of cars.
